The Philadelphia Flyers may have their eye on some Ottawa Senators centers
Anthony Di Marco of Daily Faceoff: The Philadelphia Flyers are interested in adding a center to their roster. Sources are saying Seattle Kraken’s Matty Beniers isn’t available. Mason McTavish‘s name has come up, but according to team sources, the Flyers are interested in a trio of Ottawa Senators centers – Shane Pinto, Dylan Cozens and Ridly Greig.
Sources added that the sides have talked dating back to 2024-25, but the Senators were only interested in moving Josh Norris back then.
Both Pinto and Cozens are 25-years-old and under contract until 2030. Pinto comes in at $7.5 million, and Cozens at $7.1 million. Greig would be the Flyers’ third option from the Sens. He’s 23 and comes in at $3.25 until 2029.

Senators GM Steve Staios is looking for a right-handed defenseman, and have had some interest in Rasmus Ristolainen.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are in no rush to move Bryan Rust or Rickard Rakell, but they are available
Josh Yohe of The Athletic: The Pittsburgh Penguins are looking to make some trades, with GM Kyle Dubas saying that trades over free agency may be their best way to get better. They’ve got around $38 million in cap space, some young and veteran players available.
Although they may be available, they aren’t in a rush to trade Bryan Rust or Rickard Rakell. Many thought Rakell would be moved at the trade deadline, but they didn’t receive an offer that tempted Dubas. Rust has a cap of $5.25 million and plays with Sidney Crosby. Rakell carries a $5 million cap hit. Dubas is looking for young players over picks and prospects.
The Penguins would listen on defenseman Kris Letang, who has two years left at $6.1 million and a 10-team trade list.
The Penguins have been linked to Edmonton Oilers Darnell Nurse, who has four years left at $9.25 million. The Oilers may need to add a sweetener, retain salary or take back Ryan Graves.
Expect the Penguins to re-sign goaltender Arturs Silovs and have a tandem with Sergei Murashov. They still like 24-year-old Joel Blomqvist.
