NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers, Winnipeg Jets, Patrick Kane, NY Rangers and the Toronto Maple Leafs

No takers for Wade Allison yet

Anthony Di Marco: The Philadelphia Flyers have been exploring the trade market for forward Wade Allison and have found no takers.

is not sure what the Flyers asking price was but the Flyers main goal was to get the contract off their books, so guessing that the price wasn’t much.

NHL Rumors: Montreal Canadiens – A Conor Garland Broker, and Joel Armia

The Winnipeg Jets couldn’t sustain a full rebuild

TSN: Winnipeg Jets chairman Mark Chipman told Darren Dreger that they are aware that Jets market likely couldn’t take a full rebuild. Dreger:

“Talking about the costliness of a rebuild, how long it takes, traditionally, to go through a rebuild, and why they ultimately made the decision not to go that route and invest into the win-now model, as seen with the extensions to Mark Scheifele and Connor Hellebuyck.

Chipman knows this market wouldn’t be able to sustain a historic rebuild so, instead, they’re investing in the here and now.”

Patrick Kane doesn’t really make sense for the New York Rangers and Kane is intrigued by the Toronto Maple Leafs

Larry Brooks of the NY Post: Don’t believe that the New York Rangers will be re-signing UFA forward Patrick Kane.

Kane’s stay on Broadway last season left a sour taste for some. There is also the health side of things, in what level will Kane come back in. Nicklas Backstrom in Washington hasn’t been the same and Ryan Kesler wasn’t able to return.

Another issue would be the amount Kane would want to sign for and if the Rangers would have the salary cap space. Would he take a one-year deal around $3 million?  Does he want a multi-year deal? Does he feel he owes the Rangers anything?

The Buffalo Sabres make sense for Kane. If he’s looking to win the Stanley Cup this season, the Detroit Red Wings don’t make sense. The Florida Panthers have been linked Kane.

NHL Rumors: Are the Dallas Stars the Leading Contenders for Patrick Kane?

A source said that the Toronto Maple Leafs intrigue Kane, but how would the cap work and is he really what the Maple Leafs need?
