The Penguins are having chemistry issues and Daniel Sprong will draw trade interest

TSN: Darren Dreger on Insider Trading said that Pittsburgh Penguins GM Jim Rutherford is anxious with his team struggling. The Penguins are deep, but there seem to be chemistry issues. There will be trade interest in Daniel Strong who needs to be a top-nine, but he’s not that with the Penguins.

Tanner Pearson‘s name is in the rumor mill

TSN: Bob McKenzie on Insider Trading said that Los Angeles Kings forward Tanner Pearson has his name in the rumor mill.  he has no goals in 14 games and appears to have lost his confidence. His name is out there.

Could there be a connection between the Penguins and Kings?

Chris Nichols of Nichols on Hockey: Darren Dreger was on TSN 690 and was asked about the Pittsburgh Penguins struggles of late and if he expects them to make some changes soon. Dreger mentions that Daniel Sprong’s names is out there, but isn’t sure what type of return he could bring.

The Los Angeles Kings are another team that got off to a slow start.

“But what you start to do is start matching teams who are struggling, right. The Los Angeles Kings have already made a pretty drastic move with Rob Blake firing John Stevens and putting Willie Desjardins in the chair for at least the short term, could be the rest of the year.

“But there’s all kinds of trade speculations that are swirling around the Los Angeles Kings. Some believing that teams in the East are calling on Tanner Pearson, who is struggling offensively – maybe Jake Muzzin, Alec Martinez, something like that.”

Dreger wonders if there could be a connection between the Penguins and Kings.

Penguins GM Jim Rutherford won’t be sitting back.

“He’s going to do something. It might start small, but it could escalate to something bigger as well.”
