David Pagnotta: The Rangers have talked to Leo Komarov about a multi-year contract. Wouldn’t be a surprise if Komarov is a Ranger on July 1st.
Larry Brooks of NY Post: Have learned that the Rangers are really interested in free agent Forward Ryan Reaves. Reaves four-year, $1.125 million per season deal just expired. He could likely get double the $1.125 million cap hit.
On Ryan Reaves …
Andy Strickland: With Reaves visiting with teams, would seem that he could be signing a long-term deal than some may have expected. Wouldn’t think you’d visit a city/team if signing a short-term deal. Term could be an issue.
Jeremy Rutherford: The Blues have spoken with Reaves camp, but it didn’t sound like much cam from it.
On the Edmonton Oilers …
Adrian Dater: Hearing that the Oilers have some interest in free agent forward Blake Comeau.
Ryan Rishaug: Jason Chimera‘s name has come up with the Oilers the past few days. He could be an option for the Oilers, and he’d love to play again in his hometown.
Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Oilers: Milan Lucic‘s agent, Gerry Johannson, said yesterday that Lucic hasn’t asked for a trade, nor have the Oilers approached them about a trade.
“If he wants to get out from under the contract, he has to talk to us,” said Johannson, who also represents Carey Price, Brent Seabrook, Ryan Getzlaf, Brendan Gallagher and Colton Parayko. “What’s going on with Milan? Absolutely Nothing. Milan had a bad year, the team had a bad year.”
“He’s coming back to play for the Edmonton Oilers. That’s not exactly a fancy storyline but that’s what it is. I have no idea how this story got out there.”
Johannson goes on that he doesn’t engage in rumors, but understands that people are interested.
“Colton Parayko getting traded? He isn’t. Carey Price getting traded? He isn’t.”
Johansson continues that he expects Lucic to bounce back with the Oilers next year and have a good season.
“100 per cent he’s coming back, that’s his plan. He’s got a no-move clause,” Johansson said. “Usually these things blow over, but this hasn’t. It got persistent.”
