“Well, might not be a surprise on Anderson, but you know, I think it should be noted that, you know, in the wake of the Quinn Hughes trade, you know, it does have some teams that didn’t get Quinn Hughes, at least starting to cast forward their minds to, you know what, what might happen with Rasmus Anderson.
And, you know, I, I don’t sense that anything’s imminent here with the the roster freeze kicking in on Friday night, but I do think early in the new year the Flames, you know, will probably start being in some of those discussions with or where they’re going with their players.”

NHL Network: Elliotte Friedman, when asked about Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson and is there is anything recent. The Flames have a price, but will anyone match it? It was a first and a really good prospect last year when he had the extra year.

Michael Del Zotto: “But I want to ask you about Rasmus Andersson. Another very good defenseman who’s having a good year on a struggling team. I’m sure a lot of teams would be interested in him. He’s an expiring contract as well. Are you hearing anything on Rasmus?
Friedman: “I got to be careful with Rasmus too, because he told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. Told Eric Francis I didn’t know what I was talking about. It’s funny. There’s been a lot of that going around the last couple of weeks.
You know what? I just think with him, I think the Flames have kind of set a price, and they would like to have the price hit. Now, Pierre LeBron mentioned that they’ve gotten more calls since Hughes got traded. And I think that’s true.
Rasmus has played really well this year. He’s been, he’s been very good, but I think, you know, the Flames have kind of set a price. And I know last year when teams were talking to them, they were looking for a first-rounder and a good prospect. Now that was with a year and a half of term left, and we’ll see what he’s willing to extend for.
The one thing about Andersson, and he has gotten annoyed. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again, is that he’s, he’s kind of wavered at times. At times, he’s wanted to be traded from Calgary, and at times he’s wanted to stay in Calgary. So the other issue here is, let’s just say, for argument’s sake, he wanted to stay. I don’t think they’ve even been close on a contract that the two sides agree with.
So I think part of it is in Andersson’s wheelhouse, and part of it does the Flames get their price, which was last year with term was, was a first-rounder and a good prospect.”
