Will Dylan Larkin be at Red Wings camp?
Jim Biringer of NHLRumors.com and Full Press NHL joined TSN Radio in Montreal on Monday and was asked, given the turmoil in the Detroit Red Wings front office, does this mean Dylan Larkin will be at training camp when the season begins?

Host: “So that so that keeps Larkin in Detroit for now, though.”
Jim Biringer: “Yes, it does, because my expectation is that he’ll be at camp because unless they’re going to get a third team, and unless Detroit’s coming off their offer of, ‘ Oh, we need NHL players back in return, we need a number one center back in return for Dylan Larkin. Well, they’re going to have to patch some things up, and he’s going to have to be in training camp because if he doesn’t report, that gives every right to the Detroit Red Wings organization to suspend him, which means he doesn’t get paid.
Will Dylan Larkin Keep Waiting for a Trade Out of Detroit?
I don’t think NHL players, they don’t like, they want to get their money, and they don’t want to go without paychecks. So unless he’s really adamant about not showing up, he’s going to be there at training camp. Now the real question is: If he starts the season, does he finish the season in Detroit? My guess is probably not because they’ll have more options than what they’re giving them now. Because Minnesota, Florida, Vegas, and Dallas don’t have what Detroit wants.”
NHLRumors.com Note: Dylan Larkin’s trade request still stands, but the teams have not changed. It is still the Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, and Dallas Stars. However, the Wild are the frontrunners and the only team he wants to go to. However, that will all depend on Quinn Hughes extending in Minnesota. Both the Wild, Golden Knights, Panthers, and Stars have nothing the Red Wings want. The Panthers are effectively out of it with the Brady Tkachuk acquisition.

So unless something comes together in the next couple of weeks, Dylan Larkin will be at camp. It doesn’t mean things can’t change once a new general manager is hired.
Where do things stand with Red Wings RFA defenseman Simon Edvinsson?
Bob Duff of Detroit Hockey Now was on the Full Press Hockey Podcast with Jim Biringer of NHLRumors.com and Full Press NHL and was asked about RFA defenseman Simon Edvinsson, and, to his surprise, his agent still doesn’t know who to speak with about his client’s next contract.

Jim Biringer: “Obviously, there is no GM in place in Detroit. You got Alex DeBrincat and Simon Edvinsson. Two players; one’s going into the final year’s deal. One guy needs a contract. What do you know? Where do we stand with DeBrincat and Simon Edvinsson?”
Bob Duff: “Well, Edvinsson’s agent just recently said, like, he doesn’t know who he’s supposed to even be talking to to negotiate a contract. So that’s fairly alarming. We’re this close to the season, and he’s saying that. We don’t know what’s going on.
Now, historically, if you look back to the (Lucas) Raymond and (Moritz) Seider negotiations, they were all finalized right on the eve of training camp, so I don’t expect anything to be done with Edvinsson until right around the time they’re supposed to report to camp.

Now, I still think Shawn Horcoff’s a very competent front office man, and I think probably underrated because he’s lived in (Steve) Yzerman’s shadow. But he’s been responsible for the Grand Rapids franchise, and that’s been one of the, the best franchises in the AHL the last two three years. And so I think from what we’re told, he’s the one that’s going to handle all that stuff in, the interim basis.”
NHLRumors.com Note: Again, there is still time to work things out with Edvinsson, but it is alarming that the player’s agent doesn’t know who to speak with this late in the process. While Horcoff will most likely get the deal done, you would think they would have a sense of the direction the team wants to take. However, as Duff notes, it is the Red Wings, and it is hard to get information. But this could be a situation where it is done before training camp.
