Vegas Golden Knights have given Vadim Shipachyov's camp permission to look for a trade. The Montreal Canadiens are not interested
On the Las Vegas Golden Knights and Vadim Shipachyov …

Elliotte Friedman: The Vegas Golden Knights have given Vadim Shipachyov’s representatives permission to talk to teams about a potential trade. He hasn’t been a fit for them.

Darren Dreger: Petr Svoboda, Shipachyov’s agent, confirmed that he was given permission to look for a trade. It is a tough spot for the Russian family.

Cap Friendly: Vegas has already paid a $2 million signing bonus to Shipachyov. Regarding salary, he owed $3 million this year and $4 million next year.

Bob McKenzie: Don’t believe the Montreal Canadiens have any interest in trading for Shipachyov.

Eric Engels: Vegas contacted Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin on Tuesday about Shipachyov, but they weren’t interested.

Eric Engels: The Canadiens had been interested in Shipachyov two offseasons ago, but his KHL contract got in the way. The Canadiens do have the salary cap space.

David Schoen of the Las Vegas Review-Journal: The Golden Knights had assigned Shipachyov to the AHL at the start of the season, and GM George McPhee denied the rumors that Shipachyov was looking to return to Russia. He was recalled and scored the game-winning goal in his debut, but was held pointless in his next two games and assigned back to the AHL.

“I know he’s a high free agent that we got in the summer and we’d like to see him score more and all that,” Knights coach Gerard Gallant said Monday. “But again, it’s tough on the guy. He didn’t start here. He started with the minor league club and came up and played a few games. He was OK. He wasn’t great, but he was OK.

“He’s been bounced around a little bit. We just want him to compete hard, get used to the NHL game. Like I said, it hasn’t been easy right now for him. But we’re seven games in, so we’ve got to be patient and hopefully things turn around.”
