Jets looking to move Petan and rejecting offers for Roslovic

Jason Bell and Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press: According to their agents, the Winnipeg Jets are trying to trade forward Nic Petan.

Teams have been trying to trade for forward Jack Roslovic, but the Jets have turned down multiple offers.

It’s looking like it would take an injury for Petan to get into the Jets lineup.

“Chevy has committed to moving him. He’s trying to find the right deal for the Winnipeg Jets,” Oliver said. “He says they are actively having conversations. There are a lot of things up in the air, but Nic has definitely been part of that.

“Kevin has asked me to keep touching base. There is a deadline coming up.”

The 23-year old Petan has been a healthy scratch and requires waivers to be sent to the AHL.

Things heating up involving Edmonton Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot

Chris Nichols of Nichols on Hockey: Darren Dreger was on TSN 690 and was talking about the Edmonton Oilers and goaltender Cam Talbot.

“You’ve got Cam Talbot from the Edmonton Oilers who’s in play, obviously, given the Koskinen contract extension,” noted Dreger as part of a discussion on the Detroit Red Wings and the overall NHL goalie market. “My information as of yesterday was that things are starting to heat up in Edmonton around Talbot. I wouldn’t say a deal is imminent, but the interest is developing.”

Dreger was later on TSN 1260 and was talking about the Oilers and Talbot again.

“Talbot is going to fetch something that matters in return,” indicated Dreger. “But it’s not going to be a top-six forward. So what’s it likely going to be. Is it a young NHL roster player and a pick. Is it a better pick and a prospect. I don’t know what the Oilers are looking for Talbot. What I know is that the interest is developing around Cam Talbot.”
