  • Nick Kypreos: The Panthers are sitting on decent offers, but would like teams to sweeten the pot for the first overall pick. One offer is believed to be from a mid-range team, possibly the Flyers?
  • George Richards: Speculation, but one Philly source thinks the asking for the first overall pick is too high for the Flyers. They are still looking to move up.
  • George Richards: Flyers names floated out there regarding the first overall pick were Brayden and Luke Schenn, Matt Read, Wayne Simmonds and Vinny Lecavalier. The Flyers are also interested in Eric Gudbranson.
  • Tim Panaccio: Flyers GM Ron Hextall is targeting Aaron Ekblad. May need to pull off multiple moves to get to him.
  • George Richards: Word is the Canucks are out of the running for the first overall. Canucks had offered Jason Garrison. Panthers  think Aaron Ekblad is a better option.
  • Kevin Kurn: Sharks will use a compliance buyout out Martin Havlat.
