Signs pointing to a Nico Hischier extension with the Devils
Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic: Signs are pointing towards Nico Hischier signing a contract extension with the New Jersey Devils after July 1st. There is still work to do, but sides are working to get it done. Teams are watching in case they can’t get a deal done.
Who could be offer sheet targets and what team might be willing to send some out?
Daily Faceoff: Jeff Marek is wondering about offer sheets for Pavel Dorofeyev, Mavrik Bourque, Leo Carlsson or Adam Fantilli. Could the St. Louis Blues be a team that looks again at offer sheeting someone?
“So that’s what I wonder about with Dorofeyev. Like, does Vegas see him potentially as essentially almost a $12 million hockey player? Cause there probably are teams that are out there that would look at that and say, ‘Yeah.’
NHL Rumors: Where Could John Carlson Land?
Or you could speculate and look at a team, look like, a team like the Dallas Stars. Who, and we’ll see what happens with Jason Robertson here, but like, they may be in a real tight situation. Can you steal, like, if you believe that Mavrik Bourque is going to be a $12 million hockey player one year or in the near future? And I think this guy’s an, I mean, anyone watched the Dallas Stars knows that Mavrik Bourque’s an excellent player, and he’s only getting better. Is he worth that offer sheet?
Or is there a.. and you think about bluntly, Leo Carlsson or Adam Fantilli. Are they worth four firsts?
I’ll tell you the one, the one team that I’m really wondering about here, with that have a new.. that has a sort of new general manager coming in. Although he’s been around the organization for a while, and he’s kind of been there with someone who’s executed a couple of offer sheets. How about the St. Louis Blues? Like, how aggressive does Alex Steen want to be this offseason, and what’s the direction of the St. Louis Blues this offseason?”
