Is Morgan Rielly trending to remain with the Toronto Maple Leafs next season?
OverDrive: Martin Biron on OverDrive TSN 1050 radio, when asked if it’s a failure if the Toronto Maple Leafs don’t trade Morgan Rielly and get an asset for him.
Mark Roe: “As Dave (Feschuk) alluded to, the Maple Leafs make a big splashy deal to get Sergei Bobrowsky in net. They did not make the big trade on the blue line that a lot of people thought they would in Morgan Rielly.
And with the schedules coming out yesterday, Marty, if you go by the promotional staff of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Riley is going to be part of the core again next year. How much of a failure would it be for the Leafs to not find a solution for Morgan Rielly on another team and to get some sort of asset for him?”
Biron: “Well, I don’t think it’s a failure. Look, you’ve made some moves. You’ve addressed part of your lineup, and, and if Morgan Reilly comes back, he comes back. That’s just the way that it is.

I mean, you’ve got a, you’ve got a player that had a bad year, but you know you look back at his career, he’s provided with some really good play and some good offense. And maybe you you surround him better. Maybe you put him in a position to succeed.
So that’s interesting because you talk about all the promotional stuff and the social media stuff. We talked about Connor Hellebuyck already, but Connor Hellebuyck has not been featured in any social media post from the Winnipeg Jets since his birthday, and I believe that was late May. And there’s been no pictures, no feature of Connor Hellebuyck.
So I’m like, okay. I remember my third year with the Buffalo Sabers organization. I thought I was ready for Buffalo, and then the Rochester Americans came up with their magnetic like schedule, and I was on that magnetic schedule. I’m like, oh crap! I guess I’m gonna start in Rochester this year, right?
Something to be said to the higher ups approving, and sometimes not approving certain posts, certain pictures, certain things. So if social media, but I think that maybe you’re getting your answer as to what the Leafs are going to do next year with Morgan Rielly.
