Rumors and Notes: Boedker, Flyers, Chiarelli, Bruins, Zidlicky and Visnovsky
  • Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic: The Coyotes and pending RFA Mikkel Boedker have already started contract talks. Boedker is coming off a two-year, $5.1 million deal.

“I’ve been in discussions with his agent, and we’ll continue to arm wrestle to try to get something done,” General Manager Don Maloney said.

  • Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: The Flyers can’t go into next season with all of Luke Schenn, Nicklas Grossmann and Radko Gudas. Would mean that two of their three pairs would be extremly slow. Schenn is a likely candidate to be moved. No reason to think the 37-year old Mark Streit and his $5.25 million cap hit won’t be back.
  • Dustin Nielson: Darren Dreger saying that Peter Chiarelli’s meetings with the Oilers will continue today.
  • Steve Conroy: If the Oilers were to hire Chiarelli as their GM, wonder if they would look to sign Dougie Hamilton to an offer sheet?
  • David Staples: Oilers intern coach Todd Nelson has a contract to coach their AHL team next year. If he was offered a head coaching position somewhere else this offseason, it’s likely the Oilers would release him.
  • Tom Gulitti: If the Red Wings make the conference finals, they Devils will receive a 2015 5th round pick and a 2016 third round pick for Marek Zidlicky.  If the Red Wings reach the Stanley Cup Final, the Devils would receive a 2016 2nd round pick (no 2015 pick would be included).
  • Arthur Staple: Islanders Lubomir Visnovsky is out indefinitely after taking a big hit from Capitals Tom Wilson.
