  • Larry Brooks of the NY Post: The Canadian dollar may mean that salary cap projections could fall $5 million to $6 million short. Cap flexibility for next season may not come, which could impact those who were hoping for it.Source saying the Ducks have been “kicking the tires” on Tomas Vokoun with John Gibson being for possibly another five weeks. They have no interest in Martin Brodeur. Brooks notes have Brodeur would have been a fit in New Jersey getting 20 to 25 starts backing up Cory Schneider, but Brodeur made it clear at the end of last year that it wasn’t something he was looking for.
  • Mark Divver: Source saying the Bruins have put the trade feelers out for a defenseman. Injuries playing major factor in this.
  • Damien Cox: Wayne Gretzky admitted over the weekend on HNIC that he talked to the Maple Leafs about the President’s job: “I finally can admit we chatted.”
  • Renaud Lavoie: The Canadiens put Rene Bourque on waivers yesterday.
  • Hope Smoke: Darren Dreger: “It’s a pretty big contract in Rene Bourque.
