  • TSN Insider Trading: Dreger: it’s unlikely the Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf are moved before the trade deadline. Phaneuf could be a week away from returning to the lineup.

    McKenzie: the Canadiens are looking to make a hockey deal. Lars Eller and Alexei Emelin could be available.LeBrun: the Penguins are looking to add a defenseman and are looking at Cody Franson, Jeff Petry, Scott Hannan and Jan Hejda.

    Dreger: the Jets aren’t finished. Teams are already calling them about Tyler Myers.

    Dreger: the Bruins aren’t interested in moving Malcolm Subban unless they get a very good prospect/young player back.

  • Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington: The Capitals have about $2 million in cap space, but that could lessen if Dmitry Orlov comes off the IR. The Capitals could ask a team to retain some salary. Some potential centers for the Capitals if they decide that Evgeny Kuznetsov is better suited on left wing.

    Antoine Vermette ($3.75 million cap hit and salary)Mike Santorelli ($1.5 million cap hit and salary)

    Mike Richards ($5.75 million cap hit for five more years, $7 million salary this year)

  • Randy Miller: 10 Flyers that could be traded by the deadline and possible suitors:

    1. Kimmo Timonen – Anaheim, Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, NY Islanders, Tampa Bay.2. Nicklas Grossmann – Anaheim, Calgary, NY Islanders.

    3. Braydon Coburn – Calgary, NY Islanders.

    4. Nick Schultz – Anaheim, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, NY Islanders, Tampa Bay, Vancouver.
