The Chicago Blackhawks are another team that may be setting themselves up for an interesting offseason
Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman, when asked which teams could be in for the biggest roster shakeup this offseason. The Chicago Blackhawks would be one to team that will be interesting to watch this offseason. They’ve really committed to the rebuild, and it takes time.

“I think Chicago is going to be really interesting. I, you know, I saw like, you know, someone sent me a note. I we, I think we reported that they were extending (GM Kyle) Davidson, like, four months ago. I completely forgot about it. And they announced it last (week). And you know, the thing about Chicago is, you know, they, they went up in points percentage for the third straight year. You know, they’re 31st, so nobody’s, nobody’s happy.
But I was watching a game of theirs last week. Their oldest defense was 24. I think (Frank) Nazar was their oldest center, and he was 22. Like, like, like, they got, they got a nuclear weapon in (Connor) Bedard, right? Potential nuclear weapon. But this shows you when you really commit to rebuilds, this is what it’s like. Like, this, like, you, like, like, I think Chicago’s got a lot of young talent, but not everybody is Celebrini or Bedard or McDavid. Like, a lot of guys were young. They take their time, they learn their lessons. They get their asses kicked, they learn their lessons. It takes time.
And like, I understand why they extended Davidson. Like, there’s a but, but, like, people are like, Oh, look at his record. I’m like, this, we always talk about process versus process. We have a good process. You know what the honest truth is, guys, nobody cares about process when you’ve been losing for four or five years in a row.
Everybody, a lot of the people who talk about process, the honest truth is they only care about results. Like Chicago, committed to a rebuild. They’re going to get another great pick this year. Like, I look at their roster and I say they’ve got a lot of really good young players there. It just takes a long time. A long a lot longer than a lot of people are willing to.”
