Trade: Flyers Send Schenn and Lecavalier to the Kings

The Philadelphia Flyers have traded Luke Schenn and Vincent Lecavalier to the Los Angeles Kings for a third round pick and Jordan Weal according to Bob McKenzie.

Bob McKenzie: Lecavalier’s agent Kent Hughes said that Lecavalier plans to retire at the end of the season.

Elliotte Friedman: The Flyers are retaining 50 percent of both Schenn’s and Lecavalier’s contracts.

General Fanager: 50 percent of Lecavalier’s cap hit would be $2.25 million and 50 percent of Schenn’s cap hit would be $1.8 million.

The 26-year old Schenn was drafted 5th overall in the 1st round of the 2008 draft by the Maple Leafs.

The 35-year old Lecavalier was drafted 1st overall in the in the 1998 draft by the Lightning.

The 23-year old Weal was drafted 70th overall in the 3rd round of the 2010 draft by the Kings.
