The Montreal Canadiens have re-signed pending UFA defenseman Andrei Markov to a three-year contract extension.
The 35-year old Markov will get $17.25 million over the three-years, a $5.75 million salary cap. Markov was originally drafted by the Canadiens, 162nd overall in the sixth round of the 1998 draft.
- Chris Johnston: Markov’s deal carries a limited no-trade clause.
