  • New York Rangers: Rangers Marc Staal was examined by an ophthalmologist and a maxillofacial surgeon today. “The injury has improved significantly and both doctors are optimistic that Marc will make a full recovery.”
  • Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: Senators goalie Craig Anderson’s ankle isn’t getting any better.

    “He does (need more time),” said coach Paul MacLean. “I don’t think he’s had a setback, but it hasn’t responded like we anticipated. We’re going to make sure (he gets rest).”

  • Philadelphia Flyers: The Flyers announce that Nicklas Grossman, Andrej Meszaros and Matt Read are all day-to-day. Eric Wellwood was loaned back to the Adirondack Phantoms.
