- Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: Red Wings management and scouting staff are meeting this week to discuss options at the draft. The Wings hold the 15th pick. They are taking in their AHL affiliate in Grand Rapids to evaluate prospects that could be with the big club next year.
- Nick Kypreos: Kirk Muller could join the Blues for next season as an assistant to Ken Hitchcock.
- Eric Stephens: Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said that Tim Jackman (broken hand) is close to returning.
- Slava Malamud: Capitals defenseman Dmitri Orlov is leaving the World Championship to DC to consult a doctor. Left with his arm in a sling. Not known if surgery will be needed.
- David Pagnotta: The Coyotes have signed defenseman Chris Summers.
