On the Anaheim Ducks …

  • Eric Stephens: Defenseman Cam Fowler said that he’s ready to return: “Things are good. I feel strong. Knee feels good.”

On the Arizona Coyotes …

  • Craig Morgan: GM Don Maloney said that he would be surprised if goalie Mike Smith was ready to play any games in February.

On the Boston Bruins …

  • Joe McDonald: Defenseman Adam McQuaid (upper-body) skated yesterday for the first time since suffering his injury.
  • Zack Cox of NESN: The Bruins put Jonas Gustavsson on the IR and recalled Malcolm Subban.

    “We placed Jonas on injured reserve as we await his final test results,” Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said in a statement. “Pending those final test results, he will be cleared for full participation by our medical staff.”

On the Calgary Flames …

  • Kristen Odland of the Calgary Hearld: Michael Ferland is getting close to returning to the lineup

On the Colorado Avanache …

  • Terry Frei: Patrick Roy said that Brad Stuart is out long-term after back surgery.

On the Chicago Blackhawks …

  • Mark Lazerus: Defenseman Michal Rozsival (lower-body) is questionable for tonight. Duncan Keith is fine and Jonathan Toews is “progressing.”

On the Dallas Stars …

  • Mark Stepneski: Defenseman Jordie Benn was out with a lower-body injury, practiced yesterday.

On the Detroit Red Wings …

  • Ansar Khan: Niklas Kronwall is still not skating after having his knee scoped two weeks ago.
  • Ansar Khan: The Red Wings put Kronwall on the LTIR. He’ll have to miss at least six more games. The earliest he’s eligible to return is February 13th against the Bruins.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

  • Robert Tychkowski of the Edmonton Journal: Connor McDavid will return to the Oilers lineup after missing 37 games. He’ll be centering Jordan Eberle and Benoit Pouliot.

On the Florida Panthers …

  • Harvey Fialkov: Defenseman Willie Mitchell is still not practicing and won’t be in the lineup tomorrow.

On the Nashville Predators …

  • Thomas Willis: Colin Wilson is on the IR with a lower-body injury didn’t practice yesterday. Gabriel Bourque is on the IR with an upper-body injury did practice.
  • Adam Vingan: Eric Nystrom was put on the IR after breaking his foot by a Yannick Weber shot.

On the New York Rangers …

  • Justin Tasch of the NY Daily News: Rick Nash missed two games prior to the All-Star break, and will miss tonight’s game with a bone bruise in his right leg.

    “It’s just a bad bone bruise and it’s taking longer than our medical group thought it would,” Alain Vigneault said. “He’s still feeling some pain and having a tough time walking.”

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

  • Tim Panaccio: GM Ron Hextall said that goalie Michael Neuvirth was being evaluated and they won’t know until this morning his status.

On the St. Louis Blues …

  • Lou Korac: Goalie Jake Allen didn’t practice yesterday.
  • Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post Dispatch: forward Jaden Schwartz is now considered day-to-day (recovering from fractured left ankle in October).

    “He looked a little bit overwhelmed with all the players on the ice,” Blues coach Ken Hitchcock. “This is the first time he’s skated really in a little bit of a chaotic atmosphere but got a lot better in the second half and felt more and more comfortable in traffic, felt more and more comfortable in tight spaces.”

On the Washington Capitals …

  • Stephen Whyno: Forward Marcus Johansson didn’t practice yesterday. He left Wednesday’s game with an upper-body injury.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

  • Ken Wiebe: Forward Adam Lowry is about to return after missing the past five games.
