- Kevin Paul Dupont: Looks like the Bruins need to trade Loui Eriksson for a No. 3-4 defenseman.
- CSNNE: The Bruins need a top-three defenseman that can move the puck and play big minutes. They could also use a top-six winger to play with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. They could also use a veteran bottom-six forward that has a bit of size and nastiness. Potential defenseman targets for the Bruins: Dustin Byfuglien, Dennis Wideman, Keith Yandle, Kevin Shattenkirk, Justin Schultz, Cam Fowler, Sami Vatanen, Hampus Lindholm, John-Michael Liles and Dan Hamhuis.
On the Pittsburgh Penguins …

The Penguins should look to use Derrick Pouliot on the blueline instead of finding a rental defenseman.

- Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period: Kings GM Dean Lombardi has been a long-time fan of defenseman Keith Yandle. The Coyotes are picking up half of Yandle’s salary, so he could fit cap wise and slide into their third pairing with either Jamie McBain or Christian Ehrhoff.
