Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: Bruins GM Don Sweeney said they’re going over their options to improve their blueline, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be signing anyone to an offer sheet at this point.
“ is certainly an avenue that we wouldn’t shy away from if the opportunity felt that it was the right player and the situation and the flexibility was there,” said Sweeney. “For us at this point in time I don’t think that’s part of our plan and focus. You know, it doesn’t mean I’ll stop making calls and seeing whether or not there’s an opportunity to continue to improve and add to our club in the right areas and target some players. I don’t foresee at this point in time, no.”
Reports are that the Bruins tried to re-acquire their 2nd and 3rd round picks that were sent to the Devils and Flyers in the Lee Stempniak and Zac Rinaldo trades.
One thing the Bruins needed to keep in mind when considering an offer sheet is that David Pastrnak, Ryan Spooner and Malcolm Subban would be RFAs after next season and could become offer sheet targets.

Scott Powers of The Athletic: Interview with former Blackhawks Andrew Shaw. There was a report that Shaw was asking $4.5 million a year from the Blackhawks. His agent Pat Brisson said it wasn’t true. On if he felt someone from the Blackhawks was trying to make him the villain during their contract talks.
“That sucked. It was frustrating. I thought I was being fair with what I was asking for. I’m glad Pat Brisson came out and said what he did, and everyone knew that wasn’t what it was. I didn’t want to look like a bad guy because I don’t think I was being one at all. I was glad he came out with that statement.”
