The Detroit Red Wings have decided not to offer a contract to Ty Conklin, reports The Detroit Free Press. After going 43-19-7 over the past two seasons with Pittsburgh and Detroit, I have to think there will be a lot of teams interested in Conklin’s services.
The Wings have decided to go with Jimmy Howard as back-up to Chris Osgood and likely the future goaltender.
Conklin (33) will be a hot commodity after July 1st and could challenge for a starters job where ever he ends up.
