On the New York Rangers …
Laura Albanese: Rangers GM Jeff Gorton on Ryan McDonagh: “I don’t think it’s the right thing to do not to say anything about an individual player whether we’re trying to trade him or not. We’ve got enough things going on around the room right now besides naming the guys.”
Dan Rosen: Gorton said he hasn’t heard much from their current players since they made public that they would be sellers at the trade deadline: “I don’t think I’m necessarily somebody that they want to see right now.”
On the Columbus Blue Jackets …
Pierre LeBrun: Despite trading for forward Mark Letestu, believe the Blue Jackets would still like to get another forward if they decide to trade Jack Johnson. If the trade offers are not good enough, the Blue Jackets are fine with holding on to him.
On the Chicago Blackhawks …
Mark Lazerus: The Winnipeg Jets, Philadelphia Flyers, and Carolina Hurricanes have been eyeing Blackhkawks forward Ryan Hartman. Getting the sense that the asking price is too high for teams.
Mark Lazerus: Don’t see why the Blackhawks would be shopping Hartman – solid third-line player that has some power-play upside. Hasn’t had a great year but won’t cost a lot next season.
On the San Jose Sharks …
David Pagnotta: Sharks forward Joel Ward has submitted his six-team no-trade list earlier today. There is no guarantee that he gets traded. Sharks just seeing if there are options. The Sharks could retain salary if needed.
On the Boston Bruins …
Joe Haggerty: Bruins GM Don Sweeney wouldn’t say for certain that he’s done trading, but senses they are.
On the Detroit Red Wings …
Craig Custance: Red Wings trade could come tomorrow between 12 and 3 after some of the other trades get done. It’s quite right now.
On the Nashville Predators …
Pierre LeBrun: The Predators will announce a pro-rated one-year, $1 million deal for Mike Fisher tomorrow.
