Deadline notes involving the LA Kings
The Fourth Period: Multiple sources saying that a few teams showed interest in Los Angeles Kings forward Tyler Toffoli including the Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars.
Talks with one team about Toffoli were significant, but they obviously weren’t able to reach a deal before the deadline.
The Kings had hoped to be able to move forward Jeff Carter at the deadline, but there was only minimal interest in him.
Forward Trevor Lewis generated some interest as well. The Kings could be active again leading up to the draft on all three.
Curtis Zupke of the LA Times: The LA Kings only traded defenseman Oscar Fantenberg at the deadline and weren’t really close on anything else according to GM Rob Blake.
“We talked about a lot of different things here the past few days,” Blake said. “But it hasn’t worked out. This is what took place … the ones that we have in place right here now.”
Blake moved out Jake Muzzin, Nate Thompson and Carl Hagelin ahead of trade deadline day.
Potential players who could have been in play, and who could be moved during the offseason include Alec Martinez, Tyler Toffoli, Jeff Carter, Jonathan Quick, Trevor Lewis, Kyle Clifford, and Ilya Kovalchuk
