NHL injury updates
Craig Morgan: Arizona Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet on defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson, who was injured after blocking a shot: “At this point I’m not sure, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to be day to day. That’s a big loss for us. Nik is a good defenseman.”
- Craig Morgan: Hjalmarsson was on crutches after the game. He won’t be traveling with the team to Winnipeg.
Charlie Roumeliotis: Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Calvin de Haan return to the lineup after missing time with a groin injury.
Charlie Roumeliotis: Blackhawks forward Kirby Dach has been assigned to the AHL for a conditioning stint.
Mike Heika: Dallas Stars coach Jim Montgomery said that Corey Perry will likely make his Stars debut on Friday against the Penguins.
Forward Blake Comeau (lower-body) and defenseman Roman Polak (sternum) are two to four weeks away from returning.
Mark Spector: The Edmonton Oilers have activated forward Josh Archibald from the IR and have placed forward Colby Cave on waivers.
Brooks Bratten: Nashville Predators forward Rocco Grimaldi is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
Arthur Staple: New York Islanders forward Casey Cizikas was wearing a walking boot yesterday.
Andrew Gross: Islanders forward Jordan Eberle appeared to injury his leg after taking a hit along the boards. The Islanders didn’t have an update on Eberle after the game.
Murray Pam: Ottawa Senators forward Artem Anisimov left yesterday’s game early with a lower-body injury.
Curtis Pashelka: San Jose Sharks forward Marcus Sorensen is getting real close to returning. He could be in the lineup today.
Defenseman Tim Heed is day-to-day and getting close as well. He’s probably not ready yet though.
Defenseman Radim Simek is skating but is not ready yet.
