What’s the latest on Tyler Myers of the Vancouver Canuck?
TSN: The Canucks have a trade offer from the Detroit Wings they like, but Tyler Myers hasn’t signed off on it, according to Chris Johnston on Insider Trading.
“I do certainly think as a veteran player who has earned that no-movement clause in his contract, he’s open and willing to thinking about where else he might play, but it may or may not end up being in Detroit.
And so I think we just have to kind of let this breathe a little bit and play out. Perhaps another team steps forward that’s a place that he’s more inclined to play.”
Myers had wanted to finish his career in Vancouver, and his family is rooted in the community. He does know the Canucks are in fire sale mode, so there is a lot on his mind. He does control where he ultimately ends up. He’ll take his time.

Pagnotta: “Yeah, well, it’s the Detroit Red Wings that have an offer on the table involving a draft pick for Tyler Myers. A high draft pick.
And they’re not the only team that has poked around on Tyler Myers recently, and that’s what Myers and his camp are kind of evaluating right now. Is Detroit the way to go? Do we wait to see if another team presents an offer the Canucks like, and maybe that’s the direction they go in.
But things have definitely picked up this week on Tyler Myers his front. Which is why he didn’t play yesterday, and now it’s just a waiting game. It’s, it’s to determine what he wants to do. He doesn’t want to rush this decision.

And we know that his no-movement clause shifts to a 12-team no-trade clause on July one. So he’s going to have considerably less say at that point, if the Canucks do explore that option then. But he’s being given an opportunity now to decide what he wants to do, and if he picks Detroit, then he’ll end up a Red Wing. If he doesn’t, then we’ll see what other teams step up here for his services.”
