Many people were wondering when the Myers saga would end. Reports were that the Detroit Red Wings made an offer to the Canucks for Myers last week. There was a belief that Monday would be decision day for Myers, as he had a full no-movement clause. However, it took longer because Myers was hoping his home-state team, the Dallas Stars, would make an offer for his services.
As reported, Tyler Myers wanted to go to Dallas all along.
It was never a no to anyone, waiting a week was all about seeing if Dallas became an option.
And they did.

Stars GM Jim Nill gets a veteran defenseman to solidify his bottom pair
Tyler Myers, acquired by DAL, is a tall veteran two-way defenceman. Not having a great year but he’s chilled out considerably and spends less time with the puck and more time using his reach on D these days. Still very turnover prone and takes a ton of penalties. #TexasHockey pic.twitter.com/dFJobpCvCc

When Sherwood signed in Vancouver I asked him why he wasn’t still in Nashville. He mentioned they wanted him to “do it again”, and they viewed him at the time around McCarron $$ / he believed he could do better and played his ass off in Vancouver to earn this payday. Sherwood is a utility winger who has shown significant improvement in his scoring this season. This is a great depth piece for the Sharks, who are looking to get back to the playoffs.
Kiefer Sherwood, extended 5x$5.75M by SJ, is a is a utility winger who hits everything that moves, forechecks and battles like a man possessed, and has an effective shot. Has also flashed good hands and some passing skill. Not a playdriver but complementary and useful. #SJSharks pic.twitter.com/0SW0c0pirc
