NHL Rumors: 3 “Potential” Packages for Robert Thomas and Latest on Vincent Trocheck
Steve Kouleas: “Will this deadline live up to the hype, Dave?”
Dave Pagnotta: ” I think so. We’re starting to see some bigger names now getting scratched with Toronto, thanks to them for doing that. I expect a few more here over the next couple of days, going into Friday, there are a lot of names. There are a lot of players that are involved from the teams looking to buy. And while it is a buyer’s market, I do anticipate a lot of fireworks here over the next 48 hours.”
NHLRumors.com Note: We are seeing players like Vincent Trocheck, A.J. Greer, and a few others being held out for trade-related reasons or roster management reasons. We know the Minnesota Wild are looking at a center and have an offer out there for Trocheck.
Names like Robert Thomas, Jordan Kyrou, Justin Faulk, and maybe Jordan Binnington from the St. Louis Blues are available for trade.
NHL Rumors: St. Louis Blues, and the Ottawa Senators
Could Steven Stamkos or Jonathan Marchessault be moved from the Nashville Predators, who have begun selling, with Nick Blackenburg and Michael Bunting traded already?
The Toronto Maple Leafs have kept Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Bobby McMann, and Scott Laughton out of the lineup for roster-related reasons after trading Nic Roy to Colorado.
What will the Calgary Flames do with Nazem Kadri and Blake Coleman? Are the Vancouver Canucks moving a ton of pieces like Elias Pettersson, and others?
Will there be a trade out of nowhere?
What is the Latest Heading into Deadline Day
Emily Kaplan: “In Bristol, where I’ll have updates across SportsCenter, The Point & Intermissions tonight, but here’s what I’m hearing before tomorrow’s NHL Trade Deadline.
-NYR want to move Vincent Trocheck, but doesn’t sound like they have offers they’re looking for yet.
-Sergei Bobrovsky and Jordan Binnington are available, but unclear if there’s a trade partner.
-Possible Chicago trades captain Nick Foligno for right situation. CBJ and Wild have checked in.
-Capitals not pure sellers, despite Nic Dowd move. No progress on contract talks with John Carlson but would be surprised to see him traded. (They traded Carlson to the Ducks for a conditional first)
NHL Rumors: Vancouver Canucks, NY Rangers, Minnesota Wild, and the Toronto Maple Leafs
-Kings now a wild card team in terms of direction.
-NJD defensemen names are out there because they’re looking for hockey trades, to add forwards. Probably better business for summer.”
Dave Pagnotta: “Columbus is now 1 point back of Boston for the final wildcard spot in the East. Word is the #CBJ are looking to add up front before tomorrow’s deadline.”
