NHL Injuries
Taylor Baird: Dallas Stars forward Roope Hintz left last night’s game in the second period afte a battle with Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon along the boards. He needed help by the trainer to get off the ice as he was unable to put any pressure on his left leg. Hintz had missed the four previous games with an illness.
Stars forward Radek Faksa will be out until around the start of the playoffs after suffering a lower-body injury. He had been rehabbing an upper-body injury he suffered at the Olympics.
Dave Hogg: Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin left last night’s game in the third period after he lost edge, and fell awkwardly after his right knee buckled.
“He obviously got crumpled up there,” McLellan said. “He’ll get checked out. We don’t think it is going to be long term, but he needs to be looked at.”
Mike Morreale: New Jersey Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald on defenseman Brett Pesce‘s lower-body injury: “He’s going to be out longer than we anticipated. I don’t know the exact timing but I could tell you it’s not this weekend. The most important thing is he heals up properly. So I guess we’re week to week.”
Jesse Granger: Vegas Golden Knights forward Brett Howden took part in their morning skate yesterday in a regular jersey.
