Afternoon notes: Devils, Flyers, Blues, Predators and Stars
  • Tom Gulitti via twitter: Devils lines: Ponikarovsky-Zajac-Kovalchuk; Parise-Elias-Clarkson; Sykora-Henrique-Zubrus; Carter-Gionta-Bernier.
  • Randy Miller via twitter: Andres Lilja and Pavel Kubina skating after practice. Andrej Meszaros likely returning. Laviolette said he’s looked good for 7 to 10 days.
  • Andy Strickland of True Hockey: The Blues have made it clear that they’d like to have Vladimir Tarasenko in uniform next season, and he’s nearing his decision if he’ll head to North America or remain in Russia. He’s expected to make his decision after the IIHF World Championships. Tarasenko has indicated to some that he intends to sign with the Blues. Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo had an MCL injury after taking the hit from Dwight King in Game 2. Forward T.J. Oshie suffered a knee injury, possibly in Game 3.
  • David Shoalts of the Globe and Mail: Predators GM David Poile should be able to recoup a 1st round pick this year by trading backup goalie Anders Lindback. Andrei Kostitsyn likely won’t be back. Alexander Radulov will be a RFA and will want a big raise if they bring him back (and if he wants to stay in the NHL). If coach Barry Trotz thinks he can straighten Radulov out, he may be back (if they can sign him).
  • Brandon Worley via twitter: Did you know that Doug Armstrong traded #13 pick in 2002 for #26, #42 and #180. The #13 pick was Alex Semin and none of 3 picks for Stars played in NHL. (#26 – Martin Vagner, #42 – Marius Holtet, and #180 – Kirill Sidorenko). 2002 draft results
