Alex Semin Re-signs with the Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes have re-signed winger Alex Semin to a 5 year, $35 million contract extension.

Semin signed a one-year, $7 million contract with the Hurricanes last offseason after spending the previous seven season with the Washington Capitals. He was drafted by the Capitals in 2002, 13th overall in the first round.

In 30 games this season, he’s recorded eight goals and 22 assists for 30 points. He has 26 penalty minutes and is a +18.
