- Dmitry Chesnokov of Yahoo! Sports: On Thursday, Alexander Radulov signed a contract extension with the Salavat Yulaef of the KHL. Initially it was reported that it was 3 year deal, but apparently it’s a 2 year extension, he’s under contract this year. Where it gets interesting is that the deal was done in August, but only came out the other day. It’s been reported that Radulov would like to return to the NHL at some point. His agent has said that he wouldn’t return until a new CBA is signed.
- Josh Cooper of the Tennessean: Cooper talked to Nashville Predators GM David Poille about the Radulov contact and the secrecy behind it.
“His agent was here last week. Every time we talk, we talk about it. He had heard the same thing, though he doesn’t do Radulov’s Russian contract. Rad said to him, basically, he didn’t say yes or no, basically he said he could get out of the deal. But that’s what he said about the current deal. When he asked him about the extension, Rad didn’t confirm it, but he said, ‘whatever I do, I can get out of.’ That’s what he said when he signed the three-year deal, that he could get out of it from year-to-year.”
- Dmitry Chesnokov via twitter: Alexander Radulov’s current contract and extension does not contain an out clause according to Salavat’s GM.
