Another Shane Doan update
  • Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic: Shane Doan spoke with potential Coyotes buyer Greg Jamison on Saturday to get an update on the process. Jamison continues to work on purchasing the team.
  • L.A. Lariviere via twitter: Confirms that Doan and Jamison spoke on Saturday. Jamison asked Doan for more time and less “noise.”
  • Jon Keen via twitter: Keen noted that Doal told Rick Wile of @RadioNLHews in Kamloops that he still wants to get something done in Phoenix.
  • Stu Hackel of Hockey Inside/Out: The Canadiens are still interested in Doan. Doan has been reluctant to fully explore his options while Jamison still pushes to buy the team. Details of their weekend conversation are not known. Jamison could be $20 million short to buy the team. Doan could be visiting the Canadiens this week.
  • Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: The Red Wings are still waiting on Shane Doan. Wings GM Ken Holland has spoken with Doan and agent Terry Bross numerous times this month. The Wings won’t give Doan a deal where he becomes the highest paid player on the team.
  • David Shoalts of the Globe and Mail: The Coyotes could have learned if Doan has run out of patience with the situation, and looked at the 6 offers he’s received. There was also a court hearing yesterday about the petition to put a sales-tax increase on a Glendale November ballot. The NHL has extended their agreement to manage the Jobing.com Arena, but if the NHL ends up owning the Coyotes for another year, it’s unlikely to get the $25 million from Glendale.
