Bouwmeester could be dealt … Wings unlikely for Nash … Nash likely traded by draft … Gillis may not want to trade Luongo to Toronto
  • George Johnson of the Calgary Herald: Jarome Iginla trade rumors have been quiet of late. Jay Bouwmeester could find himself traded by they draft. The 29 year old is owed $6.68 million this year and next. A Columbus rumor is out there again, and Toronto has been mentioned as well.
  • Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: It’s unlikely that the Red Wings will land Rick Nash due to the astronomical cost to get him. The Wings would likely have to give up Valtteri Filppula, prospect Brendan Smith and a 1st round pick. That may not even be enough. The Rangers are the most likely destination. Vancouver and San Jose are 2 other possible destinations.
  • Michael Arace of the Columbus Dispatch: Rick Nash will most likely be traded next Thursday or on Friday night before the NHL draft start. There is a lesser chance a deal won’t happen until the free agency starts on July 1st.
  • Aaron Portzline via twitter: The Blue Jackets made multiple offers to the Predators for Anders Lindback. Preds didn’t likely want to trade him within the division.
  • Andy Strickland of True Hockey: Some people believe that the Canucks GM Mike Gillis doesn’t want to trade Roberto Luongo to the Maple Leafs because he’d have to see him every week on Hockey Night in Canada, especially if he’s having success. When the Oilers traded Chris Pronger to the Ducks, they look less than what the Maple Leafs had offered as Lowe didn’t want to see the Chris Pronger show every Saturday. Signs could be pointing to Alexander Semin going to the Red Wings.
  • Will DePaoli via twitter: The Penguins are looking at trade options leading up to the draft. Steve Sullivan will remain on the back burner.
