Bruins re-sign Kelly and Campbell … No truth that van Riemsdyk surgery is holding up a Flyers-Blue Jackets trade
  • Bob McKenzie via twitter: The Boston Bruins have re-signed Chris Kelly to a 4 year, $12 million. Gregory Campbell also re-signs with the Bruins for 3 years, $4.8 million. That is a $3 million cap hit for Kelly, and a $1.6 million cap hit for Campbell.
  • Sarah Baicker via twitter: Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said that James van Riemsdyk surgery has been delayed because van Riemsdyk had an infection in his foot. All other speculation is “way off base,” according to Holmgren.
  • Aaron Portzline via twitter: Has been told that all reports of a Philadelphia – Columbus trade that is being held up by van Riemsdyk’s surgery are totally bogus.
  • Darren Dreger via twitter: van Riemsdyk has no labrum damage and no consensus on treatment. A decision on whether surgery is needed is expected sometime this week.
  • Darren Dreger via twitter: JVR wants to stay in Philadelphia but understands it’s a business and know it’s possible that he’s traded. He just wants to get healthy.
  • Sarah Baicker via twitter: JVR’s agent Alec Schall, “I would not be surprised , but it’s nothing the Flyers have told us to expect.”
