  • Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review: The framework of Kris Letang’s 8 year, $56 million contract extension is done, but the Penguins have balked at Letang’s push for an agreement that he won’t be traded before next summer when the contract kicks in.
  • Pierre LeBrun: Bryan Bickell’s deal with the Blackhawks is 4 years and $16 million.
  • Sarah McLellan: Mike Smith’s deal with the Coyotes has been approved by the league and should be announced today.
