Free Agents notes on the big 4: Benn, Kulikov, O’Reilly and Subban
  • Dallas Stars via twitter: Dallas Stars owner Tom Gaglardi, “We’re Deeply committed to getting Jamie Benn in a Dallas Stars jersey for a long, long time.” Bob McKenzie via twitter: Benn’s agent, Rich Evans, said the Benn has no interest in a 6 year deal, preferring a 3 to 5 year deal. Still working on it. Pierre LeBrun via twitter: Benn’s agent said the 2 sides haven’t agreed on term and money, but they continue to talk.
  • Harvey Fialkov via twitter: Dmitry Kulikov said he has to pass his physical but is completely healthy. Isn’t sure if he’ll play in the season opener. Louis Jean via twitter: Deal between Kulikov and Panthers isn’t done just yet. Bob McKenzie via twitter: Things are far enough along that Kulikov is leaving Russia. Florida wants medical before finalizing. Deal is close but not “done.” Harvey Fialkov via twitter: Responding to McKenize, Kulikov is in the States already and his agent said the contract is signed. Kulikov confirmed no matter what the Panthers are saying. The Panthers wouldn’t comment on Harvey’s report that he’s already signed. They never do until player passes their physical. Bob McKenzie via twitter: Later said last night that Kulikov landed in the U.S. and would be heading to Florida .
  • Adrian Dater via twitter: Avalanche RFA Ryan O’Reilly has a ‘minor injury’ according to his agent, Mark Guy. O’Reilly was to miss last night’s KHL game. No other info in the injury is known. Nothing new on contract talks either. The Fourth Period: Guy told TFP that there is still “no progress” on contract talks. It’s believed that O’Reilly is looking for a multi-year deal in the $3.5 to $4 million range.
