There is swelling around the right eye after taking a high stick last night against the Maple Leafs.   • Miguel Rodrguez of the Buffalo News: Sabres forward Tyler Ennis is ‘week-to-week’ with an ankle sprain. Ville Leino will move over to left wing. Brad Boyes worked on the power play unit with Thomas Vanek and Jason Pominville.
  • Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: Blue Jackets forward Jeff Carter won’t be in the lineup against the Red Wings as his fractured right foot is still too painful to boot up and skate. Defenseman Marc Methot and Radek Martinek are also out. Martinek could be gone a while.
