  • Arthur Staple: An MRI reveals that John Tavares has a torn MCL and a meniscus. He will be ready for training camp.
  • Chad Graff: No change in Wild’s Josh Harding’s status. Each passing day makes a return less likely.
  • Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune: Wild’s Niklas Backstrom is still bother by an abdominal issue. He has been given new treatment protocols and off-ice workouts. The Wild hope Jason Zucker (leg) and Marco Scandella (MCL) can rejoin the team soon. Chad Graff: Scandella has received clearance to start skating.
  • Dave Molinari: Penguins Kris Letang is still recovering from stroke, watched yesterday’s practice from the bench.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils Ryane Clowe missed practiced yesterday due to “soreness.”
  • Ansar Khan: Red Wings Jakub Kindl said his knee is still sore (sprained MCL) but expects to play in their first game after the break.
  • George Sipple: Red Wings Stephen Weiss is heading to Grand Rapids (AHL) on a conditioning stint.
  • Lou Korac: There is no timetable set for Blues Vladimir Sobotka to return to the lineup from his knee injury. He is expected to start skating this weekend.
  • Josh Cooper: Predators Pekka Rinne: “I was on the ice way longer than yesterday and feeling good. It’s a really good sign.”
