Injury Notes: Panthers, Stars, Devils, Bruins, Blue Jackets, Red Wings, Isles, Jets and Blackhawks
  • Mike Halford: The Panthers put Erik Gudbranson (orbital bone) on IR.
  • Dallas Morning News: The Stars activated Aaron Rome from the IR and up Sergei Gonchar on the IR.
  • Rich Chere: Devils defenseman Bryce Salvador is possible today against the Islanders.
  • Jamie Erdahl: Bruins Dougie Hamilton is closing in on week three of his two to four week lower-body injury. He is still skating on his own and is expected to join the team soon.
  • Aaron Portzline: Injured Blue Jackets Sergei Bobrovsky, Nathan Horton, Dalton Prout and Matt Calvert all traveled with the team on their Colorado-Phoenix road trip.
  • Brendan Savage: Red Wings Johan Franzen and Darren Helm will still be out for the near future.
  • Harvey Fialkov: Panthers Scottie Upshall’s injury is believed not to be serious. He’ll be out today and evaluated further. He left the arena with no visible signs of injury. Ie. no slings or limping.
  • Bruce Garrioch: Bruins Chris Kelly said he’s about a week away from getting out of his walking cast.
  • Arthur Staple of Newsday: Islanders John Tavares missed practice yesterday with a lower-body injury and is day-to-day.
  • Ken Wiebe: Jets defenseman Mark Stuart has a groin injury.
  • Joe Haggerty: Bruins Dennis Seidenberg will be out tonight with a lower-body injury.
  • Scott Powers of ESPN: Blackhawks Corey Crawford is close to returning to practice after being out for three weeks with a lower-body injury.

    “Real good progress,” Quenneville said of Crawford after Friday’s morning skate. “Felt good today and had a much intense workout than he had last times on the ice. Over the next couple, three days, get him more with the guys as we go along here. We like the progress. He feels much better.”

    There is no update on Nikolai Khabibulin’s injury. He’s been out since Nov. 16th.
