Injury Notes: Weber, Rinne, Bozak, Dupuis, Greene, Lewis, Shaw, Hedman, Daley and Boychuk
  • K Wilson Preds: Predators Shea Weber is expected to practice today and will be wearing a visor. Jim Diamond: Weber will practice today and travel with the team to Washington. It won’t be known if he’ll play on Saturday until tomorrow.
  • Jim Diamond: Predators GM David Poile said they are encouraged by Pekka Rinne’s MRI results. He’ll have two more weeks of light physical activity. Rinne can start more strenuous physical activity on December 20th and there is no timetable for his return. Rinne is to have his PICC line removed today.
  • Hope Smoke: Darren Dreger on TSN Radio:  “There is going to be an exhaustive investigation into this injury for Bozak to see if he needs to be operated on” …  “This is the second time he’s suffered the same injury so the Leafs are looking to see if it’s a fluke or something else.”
  • Sean Gentille of the Sporting News: Penguins Pascal Dupuis left last night’s game after eight shifts with a lower-body injury. He will be evaluated today. The Penguins were already without Evgeni Malkin (lower-body), Paul Martin (broken tibia), Rob Scuderi (broken ankle), Beau Bennett (broken wrist) and Tanner Glass (broken hand).
  • Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider: Both Matt Greene and Trevor Lewis practiced yesterday with Kings for a non-contact skate. It’s not known when they will return to the lineup. Greene is on the LTIR and has been out for 14 games with an upper-body injury. Lewis has missed the last six games with a lower-body injury.
  • Tim Sassone: Blackhawks Andrew Shaw and Michal Handzus both could play tonight.
  • Missy Zielinski: Lightning’s Victor Hedman left last night’s game with a lower-body injury.
  • Dallas Stars: Stars Trevor Daley left last night’s game with a lower-body injury.
  • Renaud Lavoie: Bruins Johnny Boychuk was in a Montreal hospital and was able to move his extremities before he left the arena. Joe McDonald: Boychuk got clearance to travel back to Boston with the team.
