Injury Notes: Weiss, Volchenkov, Salvador, Aulie, Pyatt, Horton, Tanguay, Wilson and Silfverberg

  • Helene St. James: Red Wings forward Stephen Weiss (groin) practiced yesterday and is hoping to play on Thursday.
  • Tom Gulitti: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said that Anton Volchenkov (leg muscle pull), Bryce Salvador (foot stress fracture) and Ryane Clowe (concussion symptoms) are not going on their road trip.
  • Damian Cristodero: Lightning’s Keith Aulie (upper body) and Tom Pyatt (broken collarbone) skated yesterday in no-contact jerseys.
  • Rob Mixer of the Blue Jackets.com: Blue Jackets Nathan Horton (shoulder) has been skating the past couple weeks with their assistant coaches and strength and conditioning coaches. There is no “set date” for his return, but he is progressing.
  • Mike Chambers of the Denver Post: Avalanche winger Alex Tanguay (knee) and Ryan Wilson (back) both remain out indefinitely.
  • Dan Wood: Ducks Jakob Silfverberg broke his hand on October 25th. It usually takes four to six weeks to heal, and four weeks will be on Friday. Six weeks will be on December 6th.
