  • Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune: Wild center Mikko Koivu has been shut down without contact for 2 weeks after he aggravated his left shoulder again. Koivu has missed their last 6 games, and was out 8 games before that. Koivu initially injured his shoulder on Jan 14th. GM Chuck Fletcher on if he’ll be shut down for good: “It’ll be up to the doctors. I don’t even know if I want to speculate.”
  • Harvey Fialkov of the Sun-Sentinel: Panthers forward Kris Versteeg will be out this week with a lower-body injury. Versteeg’s been bothered by the injury for about a week, and wanted to play through it.
  • Chris Harlan of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: Sidney Crosby will travel with the team on this road trip, but his status is still unknown. “(Crosby) would blow away any other acquisition that any team made at the deadline,” Bylsma said. “We like our team. We like our players. Our team is on the floor.”
  • Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: Rick Nash:“I was informed by management (in January) that there was a (planned) rebuild, a reshape, of the team, and I personally felt I could be a huge part of that, toward bringing assets in,” Nash said. “I think that was … in my view, what was the best thing for me, the organization and, personally, for my career.”
