Moen-Habs talking … Possible Rangers offseason targets … Devils offseason issues … Flyers and Wild will be interested in Parise
  • Will DePaoli via twitter: The Canadiens and Travis Moen have held preliminary talks. Moen made $1.5 million last year.
  • Brian Monzo of CBS New York: The Rangers have held preliminary talks with Brandon Prust and Martin Biron. Anton Stralman likely won’t be back. Before the new CBA, the Rangers could have close to $21 million in cap space. If they re-sign Prust and Biron, they could be in the $17-$18 million range. Monzo thinks they should go after Zach Parise. Shane Doan is another option. It’s likely that Matt Carle re-signs with the Flyers, but if he hits the free agent market, the Rangers should take a look. Paul Gaustad would look good on the 3rd or 4th line for the next few years. Justin Schultz is another defenseman the Rangers could look at.
  • Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger: The Devils have some serious offseason issues to look at. 1. They need to re-sign Zach Parise. 2. They need to get Ilya Kovalchuk’s health straightened out. 3. Martin Brodeur and Johan Hedberg are free agents, and prospect Scott Wedgewood isn’t ready.
  • Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune: The Wild are not allowed to say, but they are hoping that if Zach Parise becomes a free agent, he’ll be interested in going home. The Wild may also be selling Ryan Suter that they have the ability to win yearly with the help of their top prospects turning pro next year. Russo thinks the Wild may trade for their rights if it gets to that point.
