  • George Richards: Panthers sale is for $230 million. John Shannon: Hearing the sale will not be on the Board of Governors agenda for Monday’s meeting. There are still some “I’s to dot and T’s to cross.”
  • Andrew Gross: Salary cap will play a big part in the Rangers final roster according to Alain Vigneault. He would prefer eight defenseman, 13 forwards and two goalies.
  • Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press: The Red Wings will need to rid themselves of three forwards by the start of the season. Cory Emmerton could find himself as one of the forwards on the outs. He has a reasonable cap of $533,000 and is a serviceable fourth line player.
