Morning Hits: Nugent-Hopkins returning, blueline moves needed for Avs and Selanne’s Winnipeg farewell
  • Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Oilers Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is about to return. Taylor Hallhad been moved to center to fill the void, but he may not be done with it.

“Are we done with Taylor in the middle? Maybe not, maybe so,” said Eakins. “But (Mark) Arcobello, (Boyd) Gordon and (Will) Acton have played well enough to fill the holes. Arcobello is pulling his weight, Gordon has been consistently good and Acton has done the job.”

Nugent-Hopkins will be on a line with Hall and Jordan Eberle.

  • Adrian Dater via Sulia: When Avs defenseman Ryan Wilson returns, someone will have to be put on waivers or sent to the AHL. Dater thinks coach Patrick Roy wants to keep Nick Holden and Nate Guenin in his top-eight. Matt Hunwick could be the odd man out, but Holden is probably on his way to the AHL. Wilson may return to the lineup on Saturday.
  • Teemu Selanne’s last game in Winnipeg where is career started.
