Morning Hits: Selanne, Lydman, Suri, Miller, Luongo and Liles
  • Adam Kimelman: Ducks GM Bob Murray on Teemu Selanne: “I want Teemu to play if he’s 100-percent sure he wants to play. If he’s sure he wants it bad, then we’ll make it work, whatever I have to do.The only answer I need is he’s 100% sure he wants to play. That’s the only answer I need. … I don’t care when he tells me. We’ll find a way. We’ve got lots of cap space, we have enough contracts.”
  • Aaron Ward: Toni Lydman has turned down two, two-year deals worth $5 million. Speculation is that he’ll retire soon.
  • Chris Nichols: The Lightning’s contract with Ritu Suri has been voided as the Swiss Federation did not sign the player transfer agreement.
  • Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun: The Sabres are still trying to trade Ryan Miller with no luck. Miller submitted a list of 10 teams he wouldn’t accept a trade too before the trade deadline. Roberto Luongo doesn’t really have any other options other than reporting to training camp. The Maple Leafs have been trying to trade John-Michael Liles with no luck. Speculation that he could be bought out during the compliance buyout period that starts today and ends on Sunday.
