Morning Rumors: Klesla, Canucks and Rielly
  • Jim Matheson: “The sudden recall of Klesla by Coyotes after clearing waivers smells of a trade. His $2.97 mil out, another contract coming in.”
  • The Fourth Period: The Canucks are looking for a scoring second line winger. They have been linked to Capitals Martin Erat, but talks didn’t go anywhere. The Vancouver Sun reported that the Canucks wanted to send David Booth to the Capitals, but they were not interested. The Flames, Panthers and Hurricanes have been shopping players. If the Canucks were to acquire someone, they would likely have to send back some salary as they don’t have a lot of cap space.
  • Rob Longley: The Maple Leafs won’t be sending Morgan Rielly to the World Junior Championships.
