Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: The Stars are expected to announce a four-year, $30 million contract extension with center Jason Spezza.
Spezza would have been a UFA after this season. His cap hit will increase from $7 million this season to $7.5 million for the next four.
The Stars acquired Spezza and Ludwig Karlsson from the Senators for Alex Chiasson, Alex Guptill, Nick Paul and a 2015 2nd round pick.
